  1. Fissiparous sometimes best describes The Old Silly's train of thought, lol.

Where do you come up with these wonderful weird words? Oh - I forgot - the dictionary, hmm? (wink)

  2. Marvin: Actually I found a wonderful website called Luciferous Logolepsy that has wonderful, obscure words. All the weird words I've posted to date have come from that site. This one, however, came from Workman Publishing's Page-a-Day calender! I was in WORD HEAVEN when I found it on their website! I get a weird word delivered to my inbox everyday! I just LOVE WORDS! :)

  3. What a perfect CAT word! It even sounds like a cat would pronounce it and some catsdo love to break things into parts.

Can one say..... Around Felix and his cohorts the fissiparous toys didn't stand a chance.

  5. Chris: LOL! It DOES sound like a cat word, doesn't it? Actually, the way you worded your sentence suggests that the toys are already "broken into parts." It would be better to say, "Around Felix and his cohorts, it wasn't long before they had a room full of fissiparous toys." :)

Rayne: Thank You! What a wonderful compliment!

  7. This sounds like a word one would apply to describe the sounds emitted by a group of snakes. What a wonderful word! Thanks, Crystal!

  10. That is a new word. Somehow I don't think I'm going to be using that one in a sentence anytime soon but at least when someone else uses it I'll now know what it means.

  11. Cassandra: Yes, the words I feature when I do a Weird Word post are all rather obscure. Of course they can be used, but for the most part I just have this thing for words, and enjoy learning new ones!
